Background
Communications
is a shared responsibility between the Research and Development
and Administration offices.
The
Secretariat shares information with communities, through newsletters,
portfolio reports, public forums, workshops, retreats and other
special events. The activities are then highlighted in our Departmental
Newsletter the “Tumbleweed” that is distributed quarterly
to the First Nations, Tribal Councils and FSIN Institutions.
Objectives
To
ensure that information regarding justice initiatives is shared
with First Nation leadership, communities & members. Communications
encourages feedback and provides an opportunity to discuss the
potential impact of justice development on the inherent and Treaty
Rights of First Nations.
