FSIN Legislative and Organizational Review
On October 31st, the FSIN Executive Council met to provide direction to the FSIN Senior Staff on the implementation of two major resolutions that call for a review and renewal of the FSIN legislation and organizational role.  Terms of reference, priorities and time lines were discussed, and an action plan was drawn from the discussion.

FSIN Executive Communique August 11, 2011

Join us as we celebrate 65 years of Inherent and Treaty Right protection. In 1946, the Saskatchewan members of the League of Indians of Western Canada, the Protective Association for Indian and their Treaties, and the Association of Saskatchewan Indians joined in solidarity to form the Union of Saskatchewan Indians which eventually became known as the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations.

SUMMER GAMES
Thunderchild First Nation hosted the very successful Saskatchewan First Nation Summer Games during the week of August 6-11.  There were approximately 3,000 athletes who competed for their respective Nation and Tribal Council.  The unofficial results as of today are:

First Nations Will Not Participate in the National Panel on Education Legislation

Vice Chief Whitefish says that 230 First Nations from Saskatchewan, Quebec and Ontario will not participate in the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) and Indian and Northern Affairs Canada’s (INAC) national panel on education regional meetings.
