Provincial Government's Environmental CodeThe Ministry of Environment (MOE) is continuing to move the regulatory process forward through a Saskatchewan Environmental Code (the Code). There has been no formal consultation and accommodation process established for First Nations.

FSIN Executive Communique January 27, 2012
Teacher Salary IncreasesINAC has announced the new Band School Teacher Salary Funding in response to the new provincial teacher salary increases. The First Nation Directors of Education are concerned that the increase put forward by INAC is approximately one third of the funds needed to match the provincial teacher salary increases, never mind covering any retroactive pay.
Seeking Support for Treaty 4 First Nations Schools: “Guest Teachers”
The Treaty 4 Student Success Program (T4SSP) provides educational support services for 18 First Nations schools across the Treaty 4 territory in southern Saskatchewan. The T4SSP is a new program, which was initiated in 2009. T4SSP’s mandate focuses on student retention, literacy/numeracy, and community engagement.
