The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, (FSIN) Lands and Resources Secretariat, extends an invitation to all First Nations for our upcoming "Inherent and Treaty Rights to Land: Treaty Land Empowerment Conference", which is scheduled for November 29, 2012, at the Dakota Dunes Casino, Whitecap Dakota First Nation.

Unexpected Passing of SIIT President October 16, 2012

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we make this announcement. Randell Morris, the President of the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, unexpectedly passed away today.

In response to Minister Duncan's statements made during the AFN Special Chief's Assembly on Education about the state of First Nations Education funding in Saskatchewan Vice Chief Simon Bird made the following release to the media on October 9, 2012:

FSIN Invites INAC Minister on Fact Finding Mission

For Immediate Release: October 9, 2012

(Saskatoon, SK) FSIN Vice-Chief Simon Bird extends an invitation to Indian Affairs Minister John Duncan to Saskatchewan to observe for himself the real situation of First Nations elementary and secondary education. It is extremely disappointing that the Federal Government would attempt to poke us in the eye by issuing such fairy tales about First Nations Education funding.
