Science, Math and Technology Mobiles
The Mobile Science, Math and Technology Outreach Program will offer presentations and hands-on activities to students and teachers within First Nations Schools. The Program Consultant will be visiting your school and work with your students and teachers from Grades 3 to Grade 8. His objective is to raise the student’s awareness in math and science and to help teachers become more proficient in delivering these subjects. He will work with teachers and students in both science and math. When he come to your school, h will meet with the teacher and discuss possible ways of varying their instruction, obtaining materials and/or working with the curriculums to better understand them. He will also demonstrate activities in classes with the teachers help. A form will be sent out well in advance of the planned visit. The school will then send the completed schedule back to Garry one week before the visit, so that he can get materials needed and prepare lesson plans. Schools will be selected according to the last year that they last had a Science Mobile visit.
