Research & Capacity Development

Background

In 2005, the Research and Development Office re-established a direct relationship and partnership between the First Nations and Federal government for the area of capacity development. This change acknowledged the First Nation qualified trainers who have the capacity to rebuild their respective structures and processes within their communities. It also allows communities to tailor trainings to meet their specific needs.

• Research and support at the request of First Nations and/or Tribal Council.

Additionally, the Research & Development Office performs a liaison role for the Saskatchewan Indian Justice Council. This role includes providing technical and administrative support to the Saskatchewan Indian Justice Council.
