Environmental Youth Council
The Environmental Youth Council (EYC) members have been working with the Secretariat on the concerns of youth regarding the environment and resources to ensure that a youth perspective is provided in all aspects of the Secretariat’s work. The EYC priorities are to be a voice and advocate for First Nations youth in the area of lands and resources through education and awareness, network and partnerships, securing funding sources, project identification and internal capacity development. Through this work, the EYC will motivate First Nations youth of Saskatchewan to pursue action on the protection of Mother Earth.
Upcoming EYC activities include planning and hosting the 4th Only a Matter of Time: Youth and Elder Summit for 2010, ongoing youth involvement and capacity building, education and awareness, partnership/initiative development, and a youth engagement strategy.
