The White Bear First Nations (WBFN) is Seeking a Highly Motivated, Mature Individual with Leadership Skills for the Position of Lands Manager.
Under the general direction of the Executive Director and Lands Committee, the Land Manager will oversee the overall operation of the WBFN Lands Department. QUALIFICATIONS: a) Must have a First Nations Reserve Land and Environment Management (RLEMP) Certificate b) Minimum of two (2) year business administration education – a combination of education and experience will be considered c) Minimum two years managerial experience is an asset d) Knowledge and experience in developing program work plans and budgets e) Must possess strong oral and written communication abilities f) Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products and e-mail required g) Knowledgeable of the First Nation Land Management Act h) Proven ability to develop and write proposals i) Must have the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team j) Must be able to take direction and follow up on assigned tasks regularly
RESPONSIBILITIES; a) Coordinate the implementation of the WBFN Chief and Council Land Management mandate b) Prepare detailed reports concerning the lands and resources of WBFN Lands c) Monitor existing land permits to ensure compliance with terms and prepare documentation for new permits in a timely fashion d) Ensure compliance with AANDC land regulations and policies e) Develop an environmental report in cooperation with the AANDC Land Officer on an annual basis f) Maintain relations with current land leases and ensure lands accounts payable and receivables are current g) Provide an annual submission to AANDC land officer of annual survey needs h) Conduct compliance related activities associated with land and natural resources transactions i) To perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time
